WHITFIELD REAVES, OMD, L.Ac. is a nationally certified acupuncturist, and has been in clinical practice since 1981. In 1983, he received his Doctor of Oriental Medicine degree, which included a four-month internship in Beijing, China. His thesis, titled "Acupuncture and the treatment of common running injuries", was one of the first English-language works integrating traditional Chinese acupuncture with western orthopedic and sports medicine. Whitfield’s clinical experience includes medical care for athletes at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, as well as numerous track and field, triathlon, skiing, and cycling events nationally over the last 25 years. Dr. Reaves has been in the forefront of the acupuncture sports medicine profession, and lectures in the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Published in 2009, it is the compilation of over two decades of clinical experience treating competitive athletes, sports injuries, and pain. He currently lives and practices in Boulder, Colorado.

Following the success of Whitfield Reaves popular (and sold-out!) workshop on treatment of the shoulder, we decided to invite Dr. Reaves back for another seminar. This seminar features the use of advanced acupuncture techniques in the treatment of pain and injury to the hip and thigh. Included will be the tendino-muscle meridians, distal points, and strategies using the opposite side and opposite extremity. Treating the site of injury is detailed with such techniques as threading the tendon, trigger point therapy, and fascial release. Many common conditions will be covered. Having spent over 25 years specializing in the treatment of musculo-skeletal disorders, Whitfield’s clinical experience is invaluable for practitioners working with pain.

 

Cost: Early Registration: (14 calendar days prior to each seminar) $125
Registration (less than 14 calendar days prior to the seminar):  $150

7.5 CEUs. All courses are approved for continuing education/professional development activity units by the NCCAOM and the state of California. Please contact us to determine whether these courses meet the requirements for your state.

Times: Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., lecture begins at 9:00 a.m. There will be a 60-minute lunch break from approximately 12:45 p.m. Seminar concludes at 5:30 p.m.

Conditions for Registration: No one is considered registered until payment is received in our office. Checks or payment received after the cut-off date for early registration will need to be for $150.00. Early registration discount ends 10 business days (14 calendar days) prior to each seminar. No exceptions will be made.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: A $20 administrative fee applies to all cancellations and will be subtracted from refund. Golden Flower Chinese Herbs cannot refund registration fees for cancellations made less than 14 calendar days before any particular seminar. No refunds will be issued from 14 calendar days prior to each respective seminar. No exceptions.

Golden Flower reserves the right to cancel or reschedule seminars when necessary and will give notice in advance. In these cases, registration fees will be refunded in full. Golden Flower will not be responsible for other costs incurred by registrants resulting from such cancellations, such as airfare or lodging.
