Golden Flower Chinese Herbs is proud to support Susan Johnson in spreading Master Tung’s legendary acupuncture system to the United States. Master Tung Ching-chang has been referred to as “The greatest acupuncture technician who ever lived.” He was a traditional Chinese physician from the Shandong Province in Northern China and was famous for the miraculous and spontaneous results he would obtain using just a few needles. The points in Master Tung’s system do not trace their origin to the Yellow Emperor’s Internal Classic. It is an entirely separate system kept alive and perfected by the Tung family over many centuries.

BEGINNING SERIES (36 CEUs)
The beginning series is presented over three weekends. All three weekends are devoted to detailed descriptions of point locations, functions, and indications. Each day ends with a demonstration of the acupuncture points discussed that day. The first two weekends additionally cover the energetic systems and basic theory used by Master Tung. The third weekend includes some advanced theory.

ADVANCED SERIES (36 CEUs)
(All three weekends of the Beginning Series required to take this series.)

The Advanced Series of Master Tung’s Magic Points, consists of two similarly laid out 3-day weekends (6 days total). These weekends are generally spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

  • Each of the two Fridays in the Advanced Series will be a heavy academic day, with much note-taking, where Susan lists and discusses treatment plans using Tung’s points for various disease patterns frequently seen in clinic. This lecture shows you how to apply the knowledge you learned in the Beginning Series.
  • Each of the two Saturdays in the Advanced Series will be Supervised Practice. Proper point location is essential for obtaining the desired results in the Tung system. The Supervised Practice days are much more relaxed yet are invaluable for coalescing the lectures and ensuring that your point location is correct. Please bring a massage table to Supervised Practices.
  • Each of the two Sundays in the Advanced Series consists of workshops on “Advanced Techniques.” The Sunday of the first weekend of the Advanced Series is “The Ancient Art and Science of Cupping.” It can be taken as a separate class. You are encouraged to invite colleagues to sign up and attend. They can be acupuncturists, nurses, LMTs, office assistants, or anyone you know who is interested in the ancient art of cupping. The “Advanced Techniques” workshops are included in and essential to the Advanced Series. Only the first one, “The Ancient Art and Science of Cupping” is open to the public.
