Neonatal Daoyin: Learning to Feel Your Own Channel Divergences

Steven Alpern, L.Ac. has been studying and practicing Chinese medicine for nearly thirty years, and has been particularly inspired by his sixteen years of studies with Jeffrey Yuen. Steven focuses on making Mr. Yuen's enigmatic teachings on Neijing-style Chinese medicine, based on identifying and treating blocks that lead to accumulations, more easily accessible and clinically applicable. About two dozen of his previously published essays are published on his website; www.ccmforhealing.com.

SEMINAR SCHEDULE

Albuquerque, New Mexico
March 8-11

Golden Flower Chinese Herbs Education Center
2724 Vassar Pl NE
Albuquerque, NM 87107

Neonatal Daoyin is a unique form of qigong that people practice while lying down in a balanced comfortable posture. The exercises are neither physically strenuous nor complicated, yet they can stimulate awareness and release of very deeply-seated "core" patterns of holding and activation. Those core interpretations are contained in the channel distinctions (jingbie) and projected onto the primary channels to aid people in keeping up with the many varied experiences we all have to process. Those "core" patterns are then generally recapitulated in the channel divergences (also jingbie), so practicing Neonatal Daoyin can help anyone grow out of their most deeply-seated blocks. For acupuncturists specifically, learning and practicing Neonatal Daoyin can provide a vitally important experiential relationship with the channel distinctions/ divergences, which are the most challenging of all the channel systems. Patients who are actively involved and dedicated to their healing process will also benefit from this class.

During this short intensive, participants will learn, have a chance to practice, and even begin 'refining' the entire series of Neonatal Daoyin exercises. Thus, participants who are interested will be able to continue working with and learning from Neonatal Daoyin process work at home after this long weekend introduction.
