SEMINAR SCHEDULE
Dallas, Texas
September 27, 2008
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
December 6, 2008
Obesity-related health issues-- especially diabetes and heart disease-- are taxing the American healthcare system. Using the Oriental medicine model, Kirsti Reed, DOM, provides weight loss protocols to help lose pounds and/or maintain a healthy weight in hopes of preventing the devastating illnesses that arise from obesity.
However, weight loss is usually not simply a matter of “eat less and exercise”, for many people there are deep emotional components related to their excess weight, and these issues are often further complicated by the misuse of food. One of the most crucial aspects of permanent weight loss is developing a healthy relationship with food. Thus, educating patients about the most basic components of diet, nutrition, and the dangerous side effects of the standard American diet is critical and is addressed in this class.
As Dr. Reed shares her personal and clinical experience and collected research, she will uncover the many layers of obesity, including the emotional aspects of weight and constitutional factors. By addressing root causes, branch manifestations, and the complicating factors of modern life she will provide in-depth information on how to use nutrition, herbs, acupuncture and a few non-traditional modalities to treat obesity. After this class, attendees will be able to create their own weight loss programs.
